INNOVIA APM Automated People Mover System - Miami Metromover, USA

Bombardier Transportation replaced 12 of Miami Metromover’s vehicles with INNOVIA APM 100 cars in 2008. The new vehicles feature an aesthetic change to the carbody, wireless transmission of on-board CCTV, improved diagnostic and troubleshooting technology, enhanced corrosion resistance and improved air-conditioning.

The original automated people mover system was supplied by Bombardier in 1986. At that time, the City of Miami claimed two “firsts” in the US: it introduced a downtown people mover and integrated its fully automated system into a mass transit network. The Metromover was subsequently expanded in 1994 to a length of 7.1 km (4.4 mi.) with a total fleet of 29 vehicles.
